MIAMI -- Police have arrested a worker at Miami International Airport on charges of selling fake electronic tickets.
Julio Amores, 55, is accused of telling travelers he worked for various airlines and could get them cheap fares to Latin America, the Miami Herald reported Wednesday.
Investigators say Amores, who was an employee of a luggage-wrapping business at the airport, would give passengers bogus confirmation numbers for electronic tickets after they paid him in cash or by check.
They found at least one case where he actually provided the real thing stranding a woman in Columbia with a one-way fare.
Amores was arrested Tuesday night.
