TAMPA, Fla. -- A 53-year-old man in Florida planned a fatal traffic accident for his wife after repeated attempts to hire someone to kill her, authorities allege.
Authorities accused Edward Graziano of attempting to orchestrate the death of his wife, Debra, on numerous occasions and paying an unidentified man $2,100 to kill her on State Road 60, the St. Petersburg (Fla.) Times reported Wednesday.
Randy Mowers informed authorities Graziano twice offered him $5,000 in exchange for killing his wife.
"He would say things like ... 'I wish someone would kill her and then there would be no problems. I wouldn't have any problems anymore. I'll take care of my own son," Mowers told police.
Authorities also allege private investigator Jeffrey Wilson began working as a police informant after Graziano began talking about wanting to kill his wife, who he suspected of cheating on him.
The Times said Graziano's son, John, suffered a serious brain injury in a 2007 car crash involving Nick Bollea, son of professional wrestler Hulk Hogan.
