NEW YORK -- Students at an elementary school in New York were found in possession of two knives and a razor prior to their spring vacation, city sources say.
Unidentified Department of Education sources confirmed the weapons were found at New York Public School 224 in the wake of the confiscation of a third knife last week, the Daily News newspaper in New York said Friday.
At least one teacher at the New York school admitted to safety concerns in the wake of the weapon discoveries.
"I don't feel safe; I don't feel anything is being done about it," the unidentified teacher said.
"The dean basically stressed ... not to say a word, not talk about it to anyone else," the teacher added to the Daily News. "The kids were talking about it. They were upset."
Education Department spokeswoman Margie Feinberg told the Daily News all elementary school students tied to the confiscated weapons have been suspended.
