SAN CLEMENTE, Calif. -- A 55-year-old man will be arraigned in Orange County, Calif., in relation to the discovery of his daughter's body in a recreational vehicle, authorities say.
The Orange County District Attorney's office said Clarence Butterfield will be arraigned Thursday on charges of special circumstances murder with torture and assault with a firearm for the death of his 21-year-old daughter, Rebekah, The Orange County (Calif.) Register reported.
The three felony charges against Butterfield means he could face the death penalty when his case goes to trial.
Butterfield has been accused of suffocating and shooting his daughter in December 2006 then hiding her dead body in his recreational vehicle's freezer.
The Register said the woman's body was found in October 2008 by employees of a towing company that was storing the vehicle after Butterfield was arrested on an obstructing a police officer charge.
