BOSTON -- A woman killed in a Boston hotel was identified Thursday as a model and aspiring actress from New York who advertised massage services on Craigslist.
Investigators in Boston believe that Julissa Brisman, 26, was shot and killed Tuesday at the Marriott Copley by the same man who robbed a woman and left her tied up at the Westin Copley last week, The Boston Globe reported. Both victims had used Craigslist.
A young elegantly dressed man was captured by security cameras at both hotels near the crime scenes. In one view, he appears to be texting on a cell phone.
Jane Greenberg, a hotel guest staying on the same floor, said she heard screams and found Brisman collapsed in the hallway. Greenberg said she had heard loud noises immediately before and did not realize it was a gun being fired. On April 10, a 29-year-old woman reported being robbed and tied up at the Westin by a man who threatened her with a gun and knife.
A doctor from Tennessee who was staying at the Westin said that a blond woman wearing a cocktail dress knocked on his door and told him she had been tied up and robbed. She said she managed to free herself after the robber, who was armed with a knife and gun, left.
Friends told The Boston Herald that Brisman had done some modeling and hoped to be an actress. She appeared in a public service ad on cell phone safety for pedestrians.
One friend said she occasionally talked about her massage activities.
"She very much talked like Paris Hilton," said Emily Claire, a New York makeup artist. "She also told us about this thing she did, and she was kind of embarrassed to talk about it."
