WASHINGTON - The Democratic candidates in the 2008 U.S. presidential campaign got a chance to make their pitches at a virtual town meeting held on the Internet Tuesday night.
The group MoveOn.org hosted the event in which members were not allowed to ask their questions about the war in Iraq live on the Internet, but heard the candidates respond to queries submitted earlier. The candidates' statements were carried on MoveOn's Web site and the Air America radio network
MoveOn members could discuss the candidates' answers and then vote on "who we think will do the best job in Iraq." The group's Web site also will allow members to make contributions to the various campaigns based on how they think each candidate performed, the newspaper said.
