WASHINGTON - Two people in a car died Wednesday near Frederick, Md., after exchanging obscene gestures with a man in a pickup truck.
Both vehicles were traveling south on Interstate 270 shortly after 8 a.m. when the driver of the green pickup, proceeding in front of the gray Chrysler Sebring, allegedly hit his brakes, The Washington Post said.
The driver of the sedan swerved and hit a guardrail before overturning. Both the driver and passenger were thrown from the car and pronounced dead at the scene, said 1st Sgt. Russell Newell, a police spokesman with the Maryland State Police.
The driver of the pickup truck fled. Witnesses gave a limited description of the man, described as white and wearing a baseball cap. The victims had not been identified.
