LAMBERTVILLE, N.J. -- A former guard in New Jersey stands accused of sexually assaulting two female inmates during his tenure at the county jail where they are being held.
The Newark (N.J.) Star-Ledger reported Thursday that former Hunterdon County Jail corrections officer Marc Jenkins has been charged with second-degree sexual assault for a pair of alleged attacks on the two women.
The two inmates allegedly were assaulted by Jenkins in December 2005 and January 2006.
The 35-year-old former guard had already been indicted last Dec. 5 on charges he groped a female co-worker at the jail. That incident, which allegedly occurred last June 23, resulted in a fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct and official misconduct charges being laid against Jenkins.
The Star-Ledger said Jenkins pleaded innocent to those charges before his indictment.
