Craigslist posting prompts arrest of woman
by UPI

TACOMA, Wash. -- Police in Pierce County, Wash., have charged an area woman with allegedly posting an Internet notice that all of her aunt's possessions were free to anyone.

The Seattle Times reportedly Thursday that Pierce County officials charged Nichole Blackwell with placing an item on Craigslist that ultimately prompted area residents to help themselves to everything in her aunt's home.

The offending Internet notice read "Moving out... House being demolished. Come and take whatever you want, nothing is off limits."

Six days after the notice appeared on the classifieds Web site, Laurie Raye checked on her house to find all her possessions gone.

Pierce County Superior Court documents said that even the home's front door and kitchen sink were taken during that time.

For the incident, Blackwell is facing charges for second-degree burglary, criminal impersonation and malicious mischief.

Police told the Times that the incident likely occurred after Raye evicted Blackwell's mother from the home.
