LAKE, Ohio - The FBI has joined the search for a missing Ohio woman who vanished in the final days of her pregnancy, police said Monday.
At a news conference, Stark County Chief Deputy Sheriff Rick Perez said that investigators are using cell phone records and other information to figure out when Jessie Marie Davis of Lake Township disappeared, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reported.
Relatives found Davis's 2-year-old son home alone in her apartment Friday morning. The boy was dressed only in a dirty diaper.
"Blake kept saying, 'Mommy was crying, mommy broke the table and mommy's in the rug,'" Patty Porter, Jessie's mother, told WEWS-TV, Cleveland.
Investigators say that Davis's car was parked at her home and her purse was still in the apartment. But sheets and a comforter were missing along with her cell phone, and someone had poured bleach on the floor.
