ATLANTA - A text message from a cell phone sparked an investigation that helped Atlanta police free two kidnapped attorneys.
David Deganian and Herman Hoying were feared dead after Deganian's brother received a text message that read: "We've been kidnapped. Please call police," The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported Monday.
The two were reportedly on their way home from an East Atlanta nightclub early Sunday when they were abducted and taken to a house in Cabbagetown some 2 miles away.
Police found the pair unharmed after arresting two men who allegedly used a credit card belonging to one of the missing lawyers.
Deganian and Hoying were held approximately 14 hours before they were freed, police told the newspaper.
Deganian works for the Georgia Public Defender Standards Council and Houing is an associate at the firm of King & Spaulding, the Journal-Constitution said.
