WASHINGTON -- U.S. intelligence has determined an al-Qaida cell is preparing for an imminent attack in the United States, ABC News reported Wednesday.
Brad Garrett, a former FBI agent and consultant to ABC News, said the intelligence came from information gleaned from the recent failed terrorist attacks in Scotland and England.
"It suggests they have information that the cell or cells coming this direction want to attack a government facility," Garrett said.
The ABC News report said White House officials have called a security summit for Thursday to determine what steps can be taken to minimize or foil the attack and to review potential weaknesses in and around government facilities.
