BARABOO, Wis. -- A Wisconsin teenager has been found guilty in the shooting death of his school principal last September.
The jury of eight women, four men took about six hours Thursday to convict 16-year-old Eric Hainstock, who faces an automatic life sentence for the first-degree intentional homicide of Weston School Principal John Klang in a school hallway in Cazenovia, Wis.
Prosecutors said Hainstock, who was 15 at the time of the shooting, fired five shots at the principal.
Hainstock, who testified Wednesday, alleged the .22-caliber revolver he had stolen from his parents' room went off accidentally in a struggle with Klang, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel said.
