KENOSHA , Wis. - A Kenosha, Wis., man allegedly strangled his wife and hanged himself in their home, the Kenosha News reported Friday.
Thomas and Jennifer Lovell, who both worked at Brookside Care Center, were married June 9 and discovered dead Wednesday evening.
Jennifer Lovell's 3-year-old son was found unharmed in the house and is now in the care of relatives.
The boy was home when his mother and stepfather died and left alone all day with their bodies, Kenosha Police Lt. Ron Bartholomew told the News.
Family members called police at about 8 p.m. Wednesday after the couple didn't show up for work and missed appointments.
Police and rescue workers arrived but didn't attempt any resuscitation as the husband and wife appeared to have been dead for hours.
The Kenosha County medical examiner performed autopsies on the bodies Thursday afternoon but results weren't available.
Bartholomew said Thomas Lovell, Jr. left a note that indicated responsibility and provided reasons for the murder-suicide, however, Bartholomew said he couldn't release the information because the investigation is ongoing.
