Structural fire training exercises slated in Bend
by Bend Weekly News Sources

Bend Fire & Rescue will be conducting live fire training exercises this week, burning two structures donated to the department for training.  The purpose of these exercises is to provide the most realistic training environment for firefighter recruits who have been preparing for this stage in their training since September of this year.  This “Burn to Learn” is one of the final pieces of Academy training for the recruits before they are assigned to duty shifts and stations.

Citizens should expect to see smoke and flames in the area of Eagle Road and Daniel Road, just south of Butler Market Road, on November 27, 28, and 29.

·                                 Training on Tuesday, November 27 will be daytime operations, from 10:00 am until approximately 6:00 pm.

·                                 Training on Wednesday, November 28 will be night operations, beginning in the late afternoon and ending by midnight.

·                                 Training on Thursday, November 29 will be daytime operations, from 10:00 am until approximately 6:00 pm.

Signs will be posted in the area notifying traffic of the training exercise.

Citizens with questions should contact Bend Fire & Rescue at 541-322-6309.
