Redmond Fire and Rescue has implemented a new outdoor burning permit program. If residents conduct any outdoor burning inside of the city limits that meet the following criteria, they will first be required to obtain an outdoor burning permit:
-- If you are planning to burn a field or lot that has not been cut and placed in a pile.
-- If you are planning to burn a pile of vegetation that exceeds 6 feet in diameter by 4 feet in height.
The permits may be purchased for $15.00 at the fire station located at 341 NW Dogwood Ave., Redmond, Oregon, from Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Permits will be limited for the amount of time they will be valid, and may be denied based on Oregon Fire Code requirements, DEQ requirements or weather issues.
If a request for an outdoor burning permit is denied, the $15.00 fee will be refunded.
All outdoor burning requirements will still need to be followed, and prior to burning you must call the Redmond Fire and Rescue outdoor burning phone number at 541-504-5035 to determine if burning is allowed for that day.
A copy of the outdoor burning regulations may be picked up at the fire stations or from the web page at www.redmondfireandrescue.org.
