Tis the season to be jolly, and because of the way the holidays fall this year . . . to shop a little early at your local liquor store, says the Oregon Liquor Control Commission.
Many liquor stores around the state will be open Christmas Eve (Dec. 24) and New Year’s Eve (Dec. 31), but since both days fall on Sunday, some may be closed or operate at reduced hours. Many liquor stores will be closed for Christmas and New Year’s Day so agents and employees can spend time with their families.
State law provides that liquor agents have the discretion to open or close on Sundays and holidays, according to Jim MacAlistaire, OLCC’s Retail Services director.
Please call your local liquor store to determine holiday operating hours. Phone numbers are available at the OLCC’s Web site: www.olcc.state.or.us.
