A recent retail theft mission resulted in multiple arrests and the recovery of stolen merchandise and stolen vehicles.
On Wednesday, March 13, 2024, North Precinct personnel conducted another retail theft mission in the areas of Jantzen Beach and Delta Park.
The mission resulted in:
17 Arrests
1 Felony charge
13 Misdemeanor charges
8 Felony warrants
6 Misdemeanor warrants
3 Vehicles Eluded
2 Vehicles towed
$1,900 Recovered stolen property

Man Deceased After Downtown Shooting
On Sunday, March 17, 2024, at 11:46 p.m., officers from the Central Precinct responded to a shooting call in the 800 block of Southwest 10th Avenue. When officers arrived, they found a man who was suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers at the scene provided trauma first aid until paramedics arrived and transported the victim to an area hospital, where he later died.

Structure Fire at 61474 Edro Place (Photo)
At 4:05 pm on Sunday, March 17 2024, Bend Fire & Rescue was dispatched to a reported structure fire at 61474 Edro Place. Initial reports were of a possible garage fire that was spreading quickly and may involve an additional structure. On arrival, both 61474 and 61466 Edro Place were involved in fire. Portland Fire responded to reports of a fire in a dumpster between two buildings right after midnight at 1923 NE Schuyler St. Crews arrived to find a 2 story apartment building flanking either side of the dumpster with approximately a dozen units in either building. The fire was able to travel up the siding and into the attic space of both buildings. Two men are facing robbery charges after a carjacking in North Portland.
On Friday, March 15, 2024 at 7:41p.m., North Precinct officers were dispatched to North Skidmore Street and North Albina Avenue on a report of a robbery of a vehicle at gunpoint. The officers learned that the victim was unloading groceries from his vehicle when two suspects approached. One pointed a gun at him, demanded his keys, and drove off in his SUV. The victim was not physically hurt.
