by Bend Weekly News Sources

Normally sold for $25, the discounted day-use pass will be sold for $20 through the month of April. Passes may be purchased at all Oregon G.I. Joe's locations, major Oregon Parks and Recreation Department (OPRD) offices, several Friends' group interpretive stores and selected local businesses and chamber of commerce visitor information centers throughout the state. A list of participating vendors is available online.

Both the 12-month pass and a 24-month alternative may also be purchased by calling the Oregon State Parks Information Center, 1-800-551-6949, and charging the cost to a VISA or MasterCard. Extra vehicle passes, available for an additional $5, must be bought at the same time the original passes are purchased.

The passes are honored at 26 state parks either 12 or 24 months from the date of purchase. For example, a 12-month pass bought at any time during April will be good through April 30, 2008.
