Give A Little Early This Holiday Season, Charity Benefits Deschutes Youth
by Bend Weekly News Sources

Wonderland Express is giving area residents four unique opportunities to help over 300 at-risk children and families in Central Oregon.  Volunteer to cut and sew hats and scarves at the Sew-a-Thon, 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Saturday, November 11th at Cynthia’s Sewing Center (1445 S. Highway 97, Suite A, Bend).  All ages and skill levels are welcome.  To sign up, call 541-383-1999.

Then bid on that special gift or holiday adornment at the silent auction during Holiday Marketplace, 9:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., November 25, 2006 at Sunriver Resort’s Homestead.  All auction items are donated by Holiday Marketplace vendors, with proceeds benefiting Wonderland Express.

And visit a giving tree at Bank of the Cascades in Sunriver or Sage Springs Club and Spa.  Select a tag, pick out the perfect present and return the gift back to the Bank of Cascades in Sunriver or Sage Springs Club and Spa unwrapped by Dec. 16, 2006.

Or log on to www.wonderlandexpress.com to make a donation or sponsor a family.

Over 300 vulnerable children and their families, randomly identified through FAN (Family Access Network), have been invited to attend this magical holiday party, featuring a visit from Santa, wrapped gifts and a stuffed stocking for the children, hay wagon rides, professional holiday photos, warm winter items, bagged groceries, a magician and a traditional buffet amid holiday decorations and activities at Sunriver Resort.
