Free Thinkers Ball to benefit Bend community radio

--Event will be held Saturday, June 9 at the Midtown Ballroom; featuring music, dancing, food, drinks, local artists--

KPOV is proud to present The Free Thinkers Ball, a celebration of free speech and community radio. The Free Thinkers Ball will feature dancing, food, drinks, and the voices of varied local artists.

During the evening, KPOV will feature various musicians, performers and writers who will perform original pieces focusing on the theme of “voice” and the importance of freedom of expression.

The night will close with frivolity and dancing with The Free Thinkers Orchestra led by David Bowers.  

Tickets are $25 per person, $40 for two. Tickets for KPOV members are $20 each, $30 for two.  Tickets will be on sale at Ranch Records, Boomtown, and the Curiosity Shoppe beginning May 14.

KPOV, Bend Community Radio, broadcasts 24 hours a day at 106.7 FM and is the first locally-produced radio station in Bend to stream live over the World Wide Web at www.kpov.org.

KPOV-LPFM is a listener-supported, volunteer-powered community radio station that broadcasts 50 locally-produced shows featuring a range of music and talk not heard on other commercial and public radio stations in the area.  KPOV also features syndicated programs like Democracy Now, Bioneers, Free Speech Radio News, and more. The mission of KPOV is to educate, entertain and involve the community by giving voice to diverse cultures and viewpoints through high quality, low-power radio.
