Bend Metro Parks & Recreation and Palmer Homes will officially dedicate
Bend's newest park--Gardenside Park--at a ceremony that will take place on Thursday, September 28 from 4-6 p.m.
At nearly two acres in size, Gardenside Park features a patio with covered
picnic structure and tables, paved walkways connecting to community trails, youth play equipment, restroom facilities and landscaped open space.
The event will double as a community celebration, with a barbecue, ice
cream, balloons and face painting. Following brief remarks from Bend Metro Parks & Recreation and Palmer Homes representatives, there will be a brief
ribbon cutting. The event will then adjourn to a social gathering, and an
opportunity for Bend residents to talk with officials from both groups.
Representatives from the Bend Metro Parks & Recreation will include Don Horton, executive director; Jan Taylor, community relations manager; Robin Laughlin; and Jeff Newman, planning & development project manager.
Representatives from Palmer Homes will include Vern & Gretchen Palmer; Bill Duffey, sales manager; Larry Murdoch, land development and park construction manager; Ray Princehorn, Gardenside superintendent; and community representatives Julie George and Wendy Partain.
