Bend City Police Blotter - Week of Oct 05

During the week, there were 26 reports of vehicle break-ins, with an estimated value of stolen items at $15,962.  Of the 26 reports, 11 vehicles were unlocked, and 13 vehicles had windows broken.  DUII arrests totaled seven, and there were 11 warrant arrests made. Eight business had smashed glass doors or windows, with damage estimated at $3,300; and two commercial vehicles had broken windows with $500 damage.

9/27.  A Bend man was arrested for kicking and breaking a seven-foot plate glass window at Timbers after he complained about the high price he paid for 3 rum-and-cokes and a burger.  When questioned, he admitted, “That sounds like something I’d do.”

9/29.  A Bend woman reported the theft of a utility trailer containing two washing machines and floor tiles.  The trailer was parked in the yard at NW Harmon Boulevard, and value of the loss is estimated at $1,375.

9/29.  A 9-year-old boy reported his unlocked bicycle was stolen from the bike rack at Ensworth Elementary School while he was attending classes.  The bike is valued at $250.

9/29.  A Bend resident of SW Silver Lake reported that someone entered his garage through an unlocked door and stole his $1,500 Trek bicycle, a set of house keys, and a key to his vehicle.

9/29.  Mastercraft Cleaners on NW Greenwood said $90 was taken from the cash register after a thief gained entrance via a 16” x 16” ventilation hole in the boiler room.

9/29.  A Bend man reported the theft of his maroon 1985 Chevy Van from the Hollywood Video parking lot.  The victim stated the van starts without a key, has Chevy logos on a roof rack, a ladder on the rear door, a cracked windshield, and no gas.

9/30.  A Bend woman reported that a man came up to her in the Shari’s parking lot on North Highway 97, pushed her, and stole her purse before fleeing on foot.

10/2.  Don Morissette Homes reported someone entered two houses under construction; threw paint and glue onto walls, windows and floors; and fell through the ceiling after climbing into the attic space.
