Bend City Police Blotter - Week of Jun 27

During the week, there were 10 reports of vehicle break-ins, with an estimated $2,687 in items stolen. Of the 10 break-ins, 8 vehicles were unlocked. There were also 4 bicycles reported stolen, with estimated value of $2,700.

§         6/21. An employee of the Mt. Laurel Lodge reported his boss punched him in the chest two times for leaving work early.

§         6/22. A resident of NW Wyeth Pl. reported the theft of a shotgun and a 30-30 from his garage. He suspects that the weapons, valued at $4,450, were taken during an open house held by realtors.

§         6/22. A woman reported that during the past 2 days someone took her mail from her mailbox. On the third day, the thief left behind a personal feminine protection product.

§         6/22. Don Morisette Homes reported an unknown person entered a house and painted several walls and tile countertops. Damage is estimated at $4,000. There was no sign of forced entry.

§         6/23. A Bend man was arrested for DUII and for driving with a suspended license after he was stopped leaving Stars. He claimed to have had only one beer, refused a blood alcohol test, and said he “felt like sh**.”

§         6/24. A woman reported she had received several threatening phone calls from an unknown male, who stated he was outside her home and was going to cut her throat.

§         6/24. A man angry for having been fired from Burger King was arrested when he damaged the credit card machine and phone lines. Estimated damage was $1,000.

§         6/24. Arco Gas reported that a green Chevy Van with Oregon plates filled up with $61 worth of gas and left without paying.

§         6/24. A man reported $1,500 damage to his Dodge Ram pickup when someone egged the vehicle. The eggs ate through the paint, causing chipping and major damage.

§         6/24. A Bend man was arrested on a misdemeanor domestic violence offense when he held his girlfriend down on a bed and strangled her. The man took the phone away from an adult witness when the witness tried to call 911.

§         6/25. A Bend man reported that someone had spray-painted the entire left side of his vehicle with black paint. His Suburban was originally silver/blue. Damage is estimated at $1,000.

§         6/25. A man heading home from a bachelor party was arrested for DUII and his vehicle impounded. He admitted to having 18 beers.

§         6/25. A man saying he was “happily buzzed” after drinking a “Blow Job” and 2 beers at Stars was arrested for DUII.

§         6/25. A Bend man was arrested for reckless burning after he launched a smoke bomb from the balcony of a room at the Riverhouse. The smoke bomb ignited a bush next to the Shilo Inn, which started the building on fire.

§         6/25. A Bend man entered a residence without permission and demanded to know from the home owner if his woman was there. Subject refused to leave and was arrested for Criminal Trespass.

§         6/26. A teenager reported as a runaway was found in the parking lot of 2600 NE Hwy 20 and found to be in possession of cigarettes. She was cited for possession of tobacco and lodged at Juvenile Detention as a runaway. Her bicycle was taken to the police department for safekeeping.

§         6/26. A man was arrested for probation violation on a previous DUII when he went to the police department to receive a dog citation.

§         6/26. A woman was arrested after using a stun gun on a man who was letting the air out of the tires of a vehicle belonging to a family member.
