College Fair Expected to Draw Record Numbers
by Bend Weekly News Sources

Thousands of high school juniors and seniors and their parents will converge on the Deschutes County Fairgrounds on Monday, October 30th for the 5th Annual Central Oregon College Fair. The free event is open to the public and takes place in the Expo Center from 9:30 am to 1:00 pm.

“This event provides a wonderful opportunity for students and their families to explore the world of educational opportunities available to them after graduation,” says Carolyn Platt, Director of Campus Advancement at Oregon State University Cascades Campus.

Platt says that representatives of more than 90 institutions of higher education will be on hand to discuss their programs and answer questions about admissions.

"The reputation of our college fair and the students we produce brings colleges from all over the US and Canada,” says Platt. “From ivy leagues to community colleges, technical institutes to art and culinary colleges, nursing schools to military academies, there is an institution to fit everyone's needs."

In addition to the school booths, free workshops on financing higher education and the college admission process will be presented throughout the morning.

Carolyn Platt may be reached at 541-383-0527.
