The Cascade Culinary Institute at Central Oregon Community College (COCC) is presenting a culinary open house from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 5, in Grandview Student Center. The event will feature hands-on demonstrations as the culinary students showcase their skills. Samples from the Café Del Sol menu, a sushi bar and a raffle drawing will be included with the $10 admission.
During spring term, the CCI will offer eight multi-course luncheons at noon from April 12 to May 31. The luncheons are served in Grandview West on the top floor of the Grandview Student Center located on the COCC campus. The cost is $14.25.
There will also be four Café Del Sol lunches (April 19, 24 and May 17, 22) where diners may choose from a variety of individually priced appetizers, salads and entrees.
The meals are prepared by Cascade Culinary Institute students under the supervision of Julian Darwin, director of the institute.
COCC’s Cascade Culinary Institute offers a four-term certificate program that prepares students for positions as prep cooks, line cooks and, in some cases, chef’s assistants.
