Washington County Sheriff’s deputies are asking the public’s help in locating a 12-year-old Tigard, Oregon boy who went missing Monday afternoon when he didn’t return home from school. Deputies have yet to determine whether the child, who has no history of trouble at home and has never run away, rode the school bus back to his neighborhood.
The principal of Fowler Middle School confirmed that Kafupeau Taicoa Nomani, “TJ” to friends and family, attended classes Monday. His family, expecting him at his usual time of about 4 p.m., reported him missing about 5:45 p.m. when he still wasn’t home.

According to a news release, no sign of the child was found when the school grounds were searched by a deputy and the school principle. They plan on speaking with other children who ride the same school bus, which stops near TJ’s home in the 8000 block of SW Pine Street in Tigard.
TJ was last seen wearing a black warm-up suit with yellow stripes down the arms and legs. He was carrying a black and orange backpack and wore white tennis shoes. Of Hawaiian descent, TJ has a tanned complexion, black hair and brown eyes, and is about 4-foot 10-inches tall weighing 115 pounds.
