OSP Trooper nails group of exotic speed racers
by Bend Weekly News Sources

GRAND RONDE, Ore. – One Oregon State Police trooper cited a half-dozen drivers of exotic sports cars for speed racing Thursday morning when they were allegedly spotted passing in no-passing zones and traveling at high speed on Highway 18 near Grand Ronde, Oregon.

According to an OSP news release, dispatch received a report of about ten sports cars exhibiting the dangerous behavior just west of Grand Ronde about 11:15 a.m., April 23.  The trooper set up east of the town and saw five vehicles zip by. As he accelerated onto the highway to follow, a sixth car zoomed by him, passing at a high speed.

Trooper David Peterson was able to stop all six vehicles and cited the drivers, who were reportedly cooperative and traveling on an annual road trip with about 20 cars. OSP said all the drivers except one were from Canada, and that driver was from Washington.

Over two hours later one of the same cars was again stopped by a different trooper on Interstate 84 near Multnomah Falls. The 2004 Lamborghini with Alberta, Canada plate "BADBUL" was allegedly going 90-mph in a 65-mph zone, the news release stated.
