Salem Police are asking the public’s help in locating two subjects wanted for questioning in connection with numerous fraud incidents that occurred between Portland and Salem in November and December of 2006.

Ashley Coleman, 20, and Brian Stift, 25, are wanted for questioning in several cases involving counterfeit checks that were passed at local businesses. The pair allegedly manufactured checks using victims’ bank accounts, passing them primarily at Fred Meyer and Wal-mart stores in various police jurisdictions.

Police think Coleman and Stift are currently in the Portland area.  Both have outstanding arrest warrants on unrelated charges.

Anyone who has information about the current location of the suspects is asked to contact their local law enforcement agency immediately.

Persons with information about these incidents are asked to contact Salem Police Detective Michael Korcek at 503.588.6050, ext. 7159.
