Washington County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the accident scene at 334th Sreet and Tualatin Valley Highway in an unincorporated area west of Hillsboro shortly after 11 a.m. April 8th.

According to a news release, the bus had just completed a stop at a marked bus stop, signaled, and began to pull away traveling about 5-mph when it was hit from behind by a Dodge Durango driven by 22-year old Christopher McGuire.

Deputies said investigation indicated the Durango was speeding, and McGuire was cited for reckless driving.

Both McGuire and his passenger were transported to Tuality Hillsboro hospital with reported minor injuries.

The TriMet bus carried 30 riders, plus the driver, deputies said.  Three adults and one infant were taken by ambulance to area hospitals – one adult and one infant to Providence St. Vincent, and two adults to Tuality Forrest Grove hospital.  The news release stated all injured persons were believed to have suffered minor injuries.

Both vehicles sustained heavy damage and were towed from the scene. TriMet brought in a replacement bus so the remaining passengers could reach their intended destinations.
