PORTLAND, Ore. - A threatening note referencing the Virginia Tech massacre found yesterday in the Rock Creek campus bathroom of Portland Community College (PCC) prompted an immediate evacuation and cancellation of classes for the remainder of the day and today.
According to a news release, Washington County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the campus about 12:30 p.m. to assist PCC security when an employee found the note in one of the bathrooms on the campus at 17705 NW Springville Road in Portland, Oregon. The note, referencing the shootings last week on the Virginia Tech campus, said that the threats would be carried out at PCC today.

Deputies and security officers evacuated the campus, and officials suspended classes for the remainder of Tuesday and Wednesday. Over 3,000 students will be affected by the closure.
Six K-9 teams from several law enforcement agencies including Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Hillsboro Police, and Beaverton Police scoured the area covered by nine buildings on 250 acres. “After an extensive search, nothing of any significance was found,” deputies said.
Deputies are continuing the investigation.
