JERUSALEM -- Palestinian resistance groups vowed Tuesday to mount a rocket campaign against Israel to protest peace talks taking place in the United States.
"The Annapolis (Md.) Conference has been called the Autumn Conference, and leaves fall in the autumn; therefore, our missiles will also fall on Israel," said Popular Resistance Committees spokesman Abu Abir.
"No one has the right to give up a single inch of Palestinian land. No one has the right to forfeit the right of every last refugee to return home," Abir said. "This is our way of saying that the Palestinians will never recognize Israel, neither as a Jewish state nor as anything else."
Soon after, reports emerged there had been a volley of rockets launched into Sderot and the western Negev, Ynetnews.com said.
Israeli military officials announced eight Palestinians had been killed in the past 24 hours in various border-area skirmishes with the military.
