DARRY, Germany -- Five young children were found dead in a house in Germany and their mother is suspected of killing them.
Police said it appeared the children, ages 3-9, had suffered "violent" deaths, the BBC reported Thursday. Their bodies were found in a house in the village of Darry, the British network said.
Their 31-year-old mother had been taken into custody and placed in a psychiatric facility, the BBC said.
"As far as currently known, the motive is to be sought in the mother's mental illness," police said said in a statement.
Last year, a Germany mother was jailed for allegedly killing eight of her children.
