HARARE, Zimbabwe -- Zimbabwe should delay its March election to enable new reforms freeing independent media and allowing protests to take effect, analysts said.
"The bottom line is postponing the election and operationalizing the new constitution: These are the two key things that are needed for an election," Sydney Masamvu, South Africa-based analyst on Zimbabwe
with the International Crisis Group, told the Los Angeles Times.
President Robert Mugabe has pledged elections will occur in March.
