BAGHDAD -- An explosion in Baghdad killed three civilians and wounded four others but an official linked to Shiite leader Moqtada Sadr escaped injury in a bomb attack.
An explosion in the southern Baghdad district of al-Zaafaraniah went off near a home, killing three occupants and wounding four, the official Kuwait News Agency said Thursday.
Violence is down in Iraq in general, however, an explosive device detonated near the home of Iraqi Member of Parliament Falah Hasann Shanshalnear in Sadr City.
"No human losses were reported as a result of the explosion. But there were some material losses caused to the MP's vehicle," an unnamed source told KUNA in later reporting Thursday.
