BEDFORD, England - A police inspector in England awaiting trail for the death of his wife allegedly killed his mother-in-law and then turned the gun on himself.
Officials found the body of Gary Weddell, 47, dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound after allegedly killing his mother-in-law, the Mail on Sunday reported.
Bedfordshire police officials discovered Weddell's body Saturday morning and found the woman, Traute Maxfield, dead in a nearby village when they went to notify his next of kin.
Weddell was free on bail while awaiting trial for the death of his wife Sandra in January 2007.
Officials worried about the welfare of the man's three children, but officers confirmed they were "safe and well."
