EDINBURGH, Scotland - A World War II-era mortar shell was found Monday in an apartment in Edinburgh, Scotland.
Bomb disposal experts arrived at the property in the Leith district after a resident removed the bomb from the premises to a grassy area and called police, the Edinburgh Evening News reported.
The surrounding area was blocked off and residents were told not to leave the building until the bomb removal was done.
Police described the "Second World War mortar bomb" as about 3 inches in diameter, adding that the army bomb disposal experts had made it safe.
