BELGRADE, Serbia - Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica summoned home the nation's ambassadors Monday from countries that have recognized Kosovo's independence from Serbia.
Speaking in Belgrade, Kostunica said Serbia's envoy to Washington was the first to receive the order, the Serbian news agency B92 reported.
The prime minister, addressing Parliament, said that by recognizing the declaration of independence by the state's ethnic Albanian population, the United States was revealing its brute political force.
Serbia maintains Kosovo's secession is illegal and continues to demand international recognition of its recognized borders. Kostunica said Serbia will never recognize Kosovo's independence.
