LONDON -- A judge Tuesday sentenced a West London man to life in prison for killing two young women and the attempted murder of a third.
Levi Bellfield was convicted Monday of killing Amelie Delagrange, 22, in 2004; and Marsha McDonnell, 19 in 2003; and trying to kill Kate Sheedy, who was 18 at the time of the 2004 attack, The Times of London reported Tuesday.
Bellfield didn't attend the court session Tuesday when sentence was pronounced because of the "bad publicity" he had received, his attorney said.
When imposing three life sentences to run concurrently, the judge said Bellfield wouldn't be considered for parole and "must serve your whole life in prison."
After the verdicts were announced, it was revealed that Bellfield was a suspect in the 2002 kidnapping and death of a 13-year-old girl, The Times said.
