LAHORE, Pakistan - Two explosions Tuesday rocked Lahore, Pakistan's second largest city, killing at least 12 people, GEO TV reported.
The report said one explosion occurred in the city's Model Town, while the other was near Mayo Hospital.
The attack near the hospital was blamed on a suicide bomber, the report said.
The twin bombings marked the second major attack this month in the city, which is the capital of Punjab Province.
On March 4, two suicide bomb attacks at the Pakistani Naval War College in Lahore killed at least seven people and injured 20 more. The attacks were blamed on fighters associated with the Taliban.
Since then police have arrested three men accused of planning suicide attacks and unearthed 110 pounds of explosives and other bomb paraphernalia.
Lahore is also the headquarters of the Pakistan Muslim League-N party, led by former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. The party was the second-largest winner of seats in the national assembly elections last month and is expected to be part of the coalition government.
