COPENHAGEN, Denmark - Danish cartoonist Kurt Westergaard reportedly is trying to block further publication of his drawing of Mohammed with a bomb coming out of his turban.
Specifically, he wants to block protesters against Islamic influence in Denmark from using the drawing, Nordjyske Stiftstidende reported. His attorney plans to seek a court order against any use of the cartoon by third parties without Westergaard's permission.
Westergaard and his wife have been living in hiding since police uncovered an alleged plot to kill him late last year. In a newspaper interview, he said that at one point they were told to leave a luxury hotel in Arhus because the management feared their presence would put other guests and employees at risk.
The bomb cartoon was the most notorious of 12 commissioned by the conservative newspaper Jyllands Posten, which wanted to break the ban on depicting Mohammed. The publication of the cartoons inspired outrage around the Islamic world.
