ROME -- Police in the central Italian town of Latina are holding a woman after they found the body of a naked man inside her kitchen freezer.
Police went to the home of Stefania Orsolo Scarlata, 35, in connection with an investigation into prostitution in the area, the Italian news agency ANSA reported Wednesday.
Neighbors, who described Scarlata as "reclusive," told investigators about frequent visitors to the house she was renting.
The man found in the freezer was identified as Gianocarlo De Santis, 68, of Rome.
Authorities were awaiting results of an autopsy to determine whether he died of natural causes or was a victim of murder.
One theory being explored is that De Santis had a heart attack while having sex with Scarlata, who panicked and concealed his body in her freezer.
