LIMA -- A court in Peru convicted four members of the military of belonging to a death squad that killed nine students in 1992, court officials said.
Ex-Gen. Julio Salazar Monroe received a 35-year sentence for his crimes, while the other three men received 15-year sentences, El Comercio reported Wednesday.
The men were convicted of being a part of the infamous "La Colina" death squad that was blamed for killing nine students in 1992 and 15 other deaths the previous year.
