TORONTO -- Toronto police said Thursday they found a 7-year-old boy who vanished after a bloody shoot-out in which his father is a suspect.
Staff-Sgt. Al Scott told reporters Calvin Richardson was found in an apartment building with his father, Clement Serjue, Wednesday night. The two were in a different unit from where they live on the ground floor, and both were uninjured, the Toronto Sun reported.
Serjue was charged with two counts of attempted murder in an incident Tuesday afternoon in which one man was shot three times in the chest and a second in the leg outside the apartment. The injured men tried to escape in a car, but smashed into a tree. Both are expected to survive, and both were charged with unrelated offenses, police said.
The boy's mother, Sue Richardson, told the Sun she was relieved.
"I've been worried to death," she said. "The only comfort I had was knowing he was with his dad because he's a really good father, a stand-up guy."
