SKOPJE, Macedonia -- Fifteen gunmen broke into a bank Friday in Skopje, Macedonia, and made off with $66,000, leaving a policeman and a woman injured, police said.
Police launched a hunt for the gunmen who wore masks during the robbery carried out in broad daylight, the Macedonian Radio-Television MRT reported.
The gunmen began firing immediately after entering a ProCredit Bank office in Skopje. They ordered the bank staff to lie on the floor face down and fired their weapons at the vault.
When the vault broke open, the gunmen grabbed the money and fled, MRT said.
