OSLO, Norway - A Norwegian meat producer is recalling 4.6 tons of summer ham after finding pieces of metal in the meat.
The producer Gilde said metal clips used to fasten the netting around its traditional Sommerskinke were found on the surface of the pre-cooked ham, Aftenposten reported Wednesday.
The recall involves hams with production number 120 and lot numbers 7183, 7184, or 7185.
Consumers were advised to return the hams to stores.
Aftenposten said Gilde has been involved in a series of meat recalls in the past few years, including one involving E-coli bacteria.
