JERUSALEM - Israel retaliated Saturday after two rockets were fired from Gaza into Sderot, forcing residents to return to their fortified rooms, Ynetnews reported.
No one was hurt in the rocket attack on Sderot, but Palestinian sources said one shepherd was killed when Israel targeted the launch site in northern Gaza and returned fire with two rockets, Ynetnews reported.
The al-Quds Brigades, the Islamic Jihad's military wing, claimed responsibility for the Palestinian rocket attack, in which no one was injured.
Sderot residents have been under near constant attack from rockets from the Gaza for the last week.
Between 2,500 to 3,000 people are believed to have fled Sderot, which has a population of about 23,000, Ynetnews said.
