BAGHDAD -- A suicide bomber blew himself up near the Fallujah police station in Iraq Thursday, police said.
Reports on the number of people killed in the suicide bombing varied, the Kuwait New Agency, KUNA, reported. Police said one officer died in the attack, while medical sources told KUNA that 10 police officers were killed.
In northern Iraq, one police officer and a civilian were killed in an explosion in Mosul Thursday, the agency reported. Another explosion in Telefar injured four police officers.
In southern Baghdad, police said gunmen had injured tribal leader Ubaid Al Masoudi and his wife in an attack at his home in the town of Iskandariya, the Iraqi television station Alsumaria reported.
The Iraqi Defense Ministry announced that the military had killed seven gunmen and arrested 53 people in operations in Diyala, Kirkuk, Salah Din and Mosul, Alsumaria reported.
The U.S. military reported the deaths of three U.S. soldiers Wednesday.
