BAGHDAD - U.S. forces detained 12 suspected al-Qaida members during operations aimed at disrupting the terror group in Iraq, military officials said Monday.
Forces reportedly targeted a location just southeast of the city of Fallujah, home to an alleged al-Qaida cell in Iraq. Six alleged terrorists were detained in the raid.
The other six were detained in raids in several cities near the Iraqi capital.
"We will continue to steadily dismantle the terrorist organizations seeking to disrupt the security that Iraqi citizens desire," said U.S. military spokesman Lt. Col. Christopher Garver.
