BUDAPEST, Hungary - An explosion in a five-story Budapest apartment building Wednesday injured two women and destroyed three apartments, the MTI news agency reported.
Fire service spokesman Peter Molnar said the blast occurred on the third floor and preliminary indications were that a gas leak was responsible.
The woman who lived in the apartment suffered serious burns, while the other victim in an adjacent apartment sustained minor injuries from falling debris, the report said.
The building is on one of the city's busy inner roads, which was closed briefly until firefighters could verify the building's structural stability, the report said.
